A battery rack — also called a battery cluster — stacks modules in series to reach the DC voltage the PCS needs. A high-voltage control box at the top holds the rack BMS, contactors, fuses and a service disconnect.

Inside containers and battery rooms

Racks are the building block inside every container and cabinet. In data center battery rooms they stand in rows like server racks, with front access for maintenance.

Safety and service

Each rack can be isolated on its own for maintenance while the others keep running, and individual modules can be replaced.

Can racks be installed in an existing building?

Yes, subject to floor loading, ventilation, fire protection and local codes. We provide the rack weights and clearances for the design.

How many racks run in parallel?

It depends on the PCS and the system controller. Each rack has its own controller and DC protection so they can be paralleled and isolated individually.

What tests are done before utility equipment ships?

Factory acceptance tests on each block — insulation, BMS functions, cooling and fire-system checks, and PCS functional tests where the PCS is integrated. You or a third-party inspector can witness them.

Which documents do grid studies and permits need from you?

Datasheets, single-line diagrams, protection settings, harmonic and fault-current data, fire-protection descriptions and simulation models where the utility requests them. We provide them for your consultant and the network operator.
