Containerized Battery Storage

Pre-assembled battery containers that ship like standard freight and connect on site.

Battery container, integrated container with PCS

Best for: Utility BESS, large C&I sites, mines and microgrids.

  • Factory-assembled and tested
  • HVAC or liquid thermal management
  • Gas detection and fire suppression
  • Ships on standard container routes

Containerized storage puts battery racks and all their support systems into a steel enclosure: battery management, climate control, gas detection, fire suppression and the DC switchgear. Each container is assembled and tested in the factory, then shipped and set on a prepared foundation.

Why containers suit remote and emerging markets

  • Less work on site — important where skilled labour is scarce.
  • Standard shipping and lifting — container ports and cranes already exist on most routes.
  • Scalable — add containers as the project grows.

Planning the site

We check the access road, crane capacity, foundation level and spacing between containers and other equipment. Heat matters: the cooling system is sized for your hottest month.

Common configurations

  • Prefabricated cabin
  • Battery-only container
  • Integrated container with PCS

What we confirm before quoting

Our engineers check these points with you, so the quotation fits your site rather than a catalogue default.

  1. 1Container size and weight
  2. 2Power and energy boundary
  3. 3Transport and crane access
  4. 4Ventilation and fire protection
  5. 5Maintenance aisles

Frequently asked questions

Can the container sit in direct sun?

Yes, it is designed for outdoor use, but the cooling load is higher. In very hot locations a shade roof can cut auxiliary consumption.

What foundation does a battery container need?

A level concrete foundation or plinths that carry the container weight, with drainage and cable entries. We provide the load and dimension drawing.

What tests are done before utility equipment ships?

Factory acceptance tests on each block — insulation, BMS functions, cooling and fire-system checks, and PCS functional tests where the PCS is integrated. You or a third-party inspector can witness them.

Which documents do grid studies and permits need from you?

Datasheets, single-line diagrams, protection settings, harmonic and fault-current data, fire-protection descriptions and simulation models where the utility requests them. We provide them for your consultant and the network operator.
