Off-Grid Solar Power Station

A stand-alone power station that supplies a community or site with no reliable grid.

Versions
Solar + storage, diesel + storage, solar + storage + diesel

Best for: Villages, clinics, schools, farms and telecom towers.

  • Grid-forming inverters
  • Battery sized for night and cloudy days
  • Optional generator backup
  • Remote monitoring and local training

Across rural Africa and island Southeast Asia, many communities and facilities are far from any grid. An off-grid power station combines solar, batteries and grid-forming inverters to supply them around the clock.

What makes off-grid different

There is no grid to fall back on, so the design must cover the worst week of the year, not the average day. That means honest load estimates, enough battery for cloudy spells, and — where outages are not acceptable — a generator as last resort.

Keeping it running

Spare parts on site, remote monitoring and training for a local operator matter as much as the equipment. We include them in the proposal.

Common configurations

  • Solar + storage
  • Diesel + storage
  • Solar + storage + diesel

What we confirm before quoting

Our engineers check these points with you, so the quotation fits your site rather than a catalogue default.

  1. 1Peak and daily load
  2. 2Backup source
  3. 3Grid-forming capability
  4. 4Fuel and maintenance plan
  5. 5Local operator training

Frequently asked questions

Can the station grow with the village?

Yes. We size the inverters and layout with room to add solar and battery capacity as demand grows.

Is a diesel generator always needed?

Not always. Where short outages are acceptable, solar and storage alone can be enough. For clinics, water pumping or telecom, a generator as last resort is usually worth it.

How is the electricity paid for in a village system?

Business models vary — flat fees, prepaid meters or community payment. We can supply prepaid metering equipment; the model itself is set by the operator.

What data do you need to design a microgrid?

Site location, a load profile or at least daily consumption with peaks, generator sizes and fuel records, critical loads, and photos of the site and existing switchboards. Missing data can be estimated, but the design then states those assumptions.

Who operates the system day to day?

Usually a local operator or the site team. We train them on start-up, alarms, panel cleaning and basic maintenance, and support remotely through the monitoring platform.
