Solar Tracker

Motorised structures that turn the modules to follow the sun through the day.

Rating
Sized per plant
Versions
Single-axis, dual-axis, linked-row drive

Best for: Larger ground-mount plants on flat or gently sloping land.

  • More energy per module than fixed tilt
  • Wind stow strategy built in
  • Pairs well with bifacial modules
  • Controller power and comms designed in

Trackers rotate the modules east to west during the day, so they face the sun for longer than a fixed frame. The gain is largest at low latitudes with clear skies — conditions common across much of Africa.

Things to settle before choosing a tracker

  • Wind: trackers move the panels flat (“stow”) in strong wind. The stow speed and the controller’s backup power must suit local storms.
  • Land: single-axis trackers tolerate gentle slopes; steep or irregular terrain usually favours fixed tilt.
  • Maintenance: moving parts need inspection and spare motors on site — something to plan for on remote projects.

We compare tracker and fixed-tilt layouts for the same site so you can see whether the extra energy justifies the extra cost and maintenance.

Common configurations

  • Single-axis
  • Dual-axis
  • Linked-row drive

What we confirm before quoting

Our engineers check these points with you, so the quotation fits your site rather than a catalogue default.

  1. 1Wind loads and stow strategy
  2. 2Terrain slope and grading
  3. 3Power supply for the controllers
  4. 4Maintenance access and spare parts
  5. 5Row spacing and land area

Frequently asked questions

Are trackers worth it for a small project?

Often not. Below a few megawatts the added cost and maintenance usually outweigh the extra yield; fixed tilt is simpler. We show both options when it is close.

What happens to a tracker in a storm?

The controller turns the rows into a stow position when wind exceeds the set limit. The stow speed and backup power for the controllers are part of the design.

How much maintenance does a tracker need?

Regular inspection of drives, bearings and controllers, plus spare motors on site for remote plants. It is more than a fixed structure, which is why we compare both options.

What documents come with a solar equipment order?

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, the datasheet of each item and the certificates you asked for at quotation stage. Certificates of origin or inspection reports can be added when your importer needs them.

How is warranty handled for buyers outside China?

Warranty terms are written into the quotation for each product. Claims start with photos, serial numbers and monitoring data; replacement parts are shipped from China, so we recommend keeping a small spares stock on larger projects.
